To receive a teacher library card, you will need to fill out a new application even if you have had a teacher card with our library previously.
Chicago Ridge Library teacher library cards are available to certified teachers who teach in School District 127 ½, and early childhood education day care centers in Chicago Ridge, and have a personal library card at their home library per our agreement with SWAN.
If you do not have a home library card, please visit your home library to make a personal card. We are unable to make you a teacher card without your home library name and your home library card number.
A teacher library card will enable you to check out materials which can be used within the classroom, for the benefit of the school and its students. The card is not meant to be used as a personal library card. The materials are for in-class use only and should not be taken home by the students.
Teacher library cards will be valid for one school year; cards expire each year on August 15th
Materials can be checked out from Chicago Ridge Public Library for three (3) weeks. They can be renewed.
Teacher library cards have a checkout limit of 200 items, and a 50 item hold limit as well as offer access to the library databases and downloadable e-resources.
